Joanie Cox

Head Coach

Coach Joanie Cox is in her third year at North Cobb High School, where she also teaches 9th grade English. This will be her second year as junior varsity head coach and has previously worked closely with Coach Sansing as an assistant coach to varsity, where they won the 7A state championship in the 2023-2024 season.
Coach Cox is from the Acworth/Kennesaw area where she attended Allatoona High School. She played on their volleyball team all four years, contributing to the team's 6A state runner-up in 2019 and 6A state champion title in 2020. After graduating high school, Coach Cox worked with beginner through elite level teams and athletes at both Cobb Atlanta and Tsunami Volleyball. She coached U13-U17 teams during her club career. Coach Cox spent this past club season coaching the Men's Orange team at North Cobb where they placed 11th in the state.
When Coach Cox is not on the court or in the classroom, she spends her free time going to the beach and hanging out with her dog Goober.

Glenn Pannell

Assistant Coach

Coach Pannell began coaching the North Cobb boys volleyball team in 2024 and has proudly served as the head coach of the Men’s Navy Team for two seasons. This year, he will also be joining Coach Cox as the assistant coach for the JV Girls Volleyball Team, continuing his commitment to supporting and developing student-athletes on and off the court.

A dedicated educator since 2008 and a proud Warrior since 2009, Coach Pannell is a valued member of the Social Studies Department. He previously served as Head Coach of the Boys Soccer Program for 12 years before retiring in 2021. He also coached Warrior Football and currently serves as a faculty advisor for both the nationally ranked Model United Nations program and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Club.

Originally from Powder Springs, Georgia, he lives there with his wife, Cindy, their daughter, Isabella, and their two dogs, Wellington and Nova. Coach Pannell is a graduate of McEachern High School (Class of 1983), where he played football and soccer. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Kennesaw State University and his Master’s Degree from Valdosta State University. He is also a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served 18 years—8 on active duty and 10 in the reserves.
